Background
I am Lauren Brooks, and I live in Columbus, Ohio. I have been a visual storyteller since I was young. No matter where life has taken me, I always come back to the paper and canvas. My work is inspired by nature, and I find beauty in all aspects of life. Through bold colors and whimsical content, I interpret the world around me. I enjoy acrylic paints, ink, alcohol ink, charcoal and photography.

FlirtyArt is inspired by my first Sphynx cat, Flirty. She passed in 2019 at the age of 17 years. She was a special companion and I enjoyed sketching and painting my interpretation of her, hence the business name “FlirtyArt”. In 2018, I lost my second Sphynx cat, Spock to the horrible heart disease HCM (hypercardiomyopathy) at a very young age. Since both their passing, the business has taken on new meaning and it is important to me to give a portion of every FlirtyArt sale to feline HCM research. For me, this is the healing power of art. I am excited to memorialize Flirty and my connection, along with all of our collective connection to both the “flora and fauna” that we all share on this planet through artwork. I hope to contribute in some small way to the healing, wonder and beauty that art can bring each one of us.
A portion of ALL FlirtyArt sales will be donated to Dr. Meur's feline HCM research at North Carolina University.
